Lalitha and Bob tied the knot a few weeks ago right here in Northern Virginia at the Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles. This wedding was the perfect balance of fun, love, cultural tradition and, of course, some serious science fiction love. Check out the following photos for a story of the day, and make sure you don’t miss the most amazing cake EVER. Enjoy!

What says Spring in DC better than cherry blossoms along the Tidal Basin? After three years of living and working in the Washington, DC region, I finally soaked up some early morning blossoms, not once, but twice in one week. Following are my favorites from Nisha and Derek’s blossom infused engagement session: enjoy!
How cute are Kelly and Andy? As these two lovebirds prepare to tie the knot this weekend in Williamsburg, Va, I thought I’d share the super fun engagement session we did last month at Jefferson Patterson Park in Leonard, Md. I love the beach in winter and Andy’s hometown along the Patuxent River offered up the perfect landscape for a romantic winter shoot. Best wishes to these two as they start their next chapter. As we close out 2015, we figured what better way to wish you all a Happy New Year than to feature Brooke and Eric’s rockin’ wedding from last New Year’s Eve. These two hail from Washington, DC’s Shaw neighborhood and they kept their big day super local. Wanting to celebrate their neighborhood through and through, Brooke and Eric chose their favorite local brewpub, Right Proper Brewing Co. for their celebration. Needless to say, they brought in 2015 with a bang, surrounded by friends, family and a whole lot of love. I hope the start to their 2016 is just as joyful and fun! Many wishes of a Happy New Year to all of you from us at Photoladylove!

Gorgeous day + the Georgetown waterfront and vistas of the Key Bridge, the Kennedy Center and the Washington Monument = tons of fun for Dan and Nicole’s engagement session! We can’t wait for their upcoming December wedding. Following are our favorites from the shoot: enjoy!
Do I have a treat for you guys today! This was easily one of my favorite weddings of 2014, not just for the breathtakingly gorgeous setting, but for the 2 people who tied the knot. Alberto and Veronica hold a very special place in my heart. I’ve known Alberto for years, back since our days at Syracuse University when he was always willing to use his design genius and collaborate with us photojournalism students. He’s a wonderful friend, super talented visual artist, and he brought his rum, salsa moves and spirit directly from Puerto Rico. Well, Alberto met his match. I love Alberto, but I LOVE Veronica. She is sweetness and playfulness personified, and she is the perfect fit for Alberto. So…as you can imagine, I was tickled pink to get to document their wedding in Old San Juan, PR. Knowing the groom, I expected beautiful details, and my wish was fulfilled. Every flower was made of paper, the lighting was spectacular, the settings chosen stunning. From El Morro, a 16th-century citadel perched on the northwestern-most point of Old San Juan, the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista and Museo Casa Blanca, one of the colonial structures still standing in Old San Juan, all connected by charming alleyways strewn with sleeping cats, the day was a feast for the eyes. Most importantly though I was honored to be the one charged with documenting this day. As beautiful as every detail was, the best part of the experience was watching these two together. So many wishes of love and a happy life together to Alberto and Veronica. Following are my favorites from the day: enjoy!
Melissa and Ross tied the knot in a quiet ceremony at The Valentine in Richmond, Va. They said their I Dos on a beautiful spring day, with a pinch of Jewish tradition, and while locking eyes with each other with the look of people truly in love. That idyllic setting was then replaced by a rockin’ party at Main Street Station where they celebrated with friends and family to music mixed by the always-fun DJ Cam DiNunzio. Many thanks to CCS Events for making the day flow seamlessly and to Melissa and Ross for just being awesome. Following are my favorites from the day: enjoy!

“I wasn’t one of those girls who dreamed and planned my wedding day for years. What I did dream of was meeting someone who was perfect for me, who loved and respected me the way I did them and who I just wanted to shout from the roof tops and tell everyone how much I loved them! That is what Alex and I have found in each other and today is our day where we can do just that: gather all our family and friends together on the first day of our married life, and celebrate our love for each other!”
This is how Maggie described her ideal wedding to me one year ago. 2014 was a busy busy year here at Photoladylove, so I am taking this opportunity to post some of my favorite 2014 weddings and celebrate our couples as they approach their first anniversaries. Maggie and Alex celebrate today and I want to wish them a very happy first anniversary with the wish for many many more. I hope Maggie’s words ring true today, just as they did one year ago, and that these two always look at each other the same way as they did in these photographs. The words Liz and Nate used to describe their vision for their wedding were: old-fashioned, honest and country. They imagined being surrounded by nature, chose to use local vendors, cut their flowers themselves and used chicken and produce directly sourced from East Lynn Farm, in Round Hill, Va. where they also held their wedding day. What they created was a wholesome, sweet, family-friendly celebration that reflected their vision perfectly. Their loved ones gathered around them in a circle as they expressed their vows to each other. Family and friends spoke to Liz and Nate during their ceremony, expressing their thoughts and well wishes. Guests sat down for a culinary experience as the chefs from Capital Taste did their magic even while the weather added a little rain to the mix. And, amid laughs, pie and babies being passed from one friend’s arms to another’s, the evening drew to a close with bluegrass filling the air. Following are my favorites from the day: enjoy!
