LOST BEHIND BARS
A man sits in a strip cell in the Richmond City Jail on Thursday, August 2, 2007. Considered a threat to himself, the man has no clothes because of the possibility that he will use his clothes to hang himself. Typical of a strip cell is also the lack of both a mattress and a toilet, the latter of which is replaced by a hole in the floor. The man’s partially eaten lunch can been in a container next to him on his bed.
